December Offers New Shows, Readers

Happy Holidays!

Need a break from stressful holiday shopping and family interaction?  Could you use a little reminder of the good things in your life, the things for which we should be grateful, like freedom?  Tune in every Wednesday in September for new shows and voices, as the Concertina Wire is not taking a vacation.

Tonight, hear an original piece about bringing The Vagina Monologues in as a reading assignment for the ladies in Lane County Adult Corrections; enjoy recent posts from the Prison Education Blog, and as always, let us serenade you with creative nonfiction from women incarcerated at Coffee Creek.  These pieces are sure to warm your living rooms and remind you that the holidays are a time for togetherness, giving, and gratitude.

Also coming up this month, tune in for interviews with Jen Jackson, the Mentorship Coordinator of Sponsors, and readings from a former resident of the Sponsors women’s house.  The Concertina Wire is also now podcasted at, so if you miss a show at 6:30pm PCT on KWVA 88.1FM or at, you can catch up.
